Family Form - Will accompany you to Canada?

Can someone please tell me if I should have marked YES / NO on the IMM5707 Family Form where it says 'will be accompanying you to Canada'.

My father will be coming with me to Canada on the same day but he will only stay for 2 weeks as a tourist. Is he accompanying me to Canada or not? What should I have marked there YES / NO?

I will be studying in Canada but my father will only stay with me for 2 weeks then he will return.

Yes, his travel and yours are entirely independent.

"Accompanying" would be true if your spouse and/or children were traveling with you as part of the same TRV/study permit application.

First, calm down and do not panic.

Accompanying you means "moving to Canada with me to be with me the whole time I study," and you would have been required to put that person's name as accompanying on your study visa. Since your father is only coming for two weeks, he's not accompanying you.

If he's from a visa-exempt country (eTA only required to get into Canada), you probably won't get extra questions. If you are asked, you can easily say that your father is there for two weeks. Make sure he has his return ticket available to show the CBSA officer.

And calm down You've done nothing wrong because your father is not accompanying you.

Unless you plan to have him not leave...

Hi All my baby daughter is part of the same TRV application as mine (I have a WP and need TRV to re enter Canada) . However she is planning to come to Canada for a couple of months later in the year with her mother and not with me. Can I mark her as no she is not accompanying me to Canada?
I am worried because in my PR application too I had marked them non accompanying due to points and dont want to contradict now in TRV
