Family Class Sponsorship

Hello,

So I am planning on sponsoring my parents to Canada but am not able to meet the LICO yet. My parents have 3 dependents so it would be a family of 7 when LICO is considered. I am thinking of sponsoring my dad alone first (thereby meeting the LICO for 3 person) and then have him sponsor his wife and dependents afterwards. Is this going to save us the LICO all together or not? Is there a LICO in spousal sponsorship? Are there any other circumstances that my dad needs to meet? If anybody has any experience with this, their contributions are greatly appreciated.

No - this will not reduce the LICO amount. Even if you are just sponsoring your father, you must meet the LICO amount to sponsor the entire family.

Only a spouse or common-law partner can be a co-signer.
