Good afternoon,

Kindly enlighten me on how can my sister sponsor me to come to Canada with her? She is a PR in Saskatoon, Canada for 6 yrs. now. Is there any possibility or chance that she can sponsor me? She is single with 2 children aged 20 and 23 y/o. Kindly help us on how to proceed with our plan. I am 50 y/o and a Registered Nurse.

Thank you so much for your help. God bless!! :-)

Since she has children she cannot sponsor you unfortunately.

To be able to sponsor you she would need to be alone in Canada .. No kids, no spouse, no other family, both parents deceased, and no other relative that could be sponsored.

You will need to qualify for PR through another stream other than family class.

Thank you so much for that information. What if find an employer for me to work there? is there a big chance? or if i will apply for a visitor visa, could i worked there or not?

Thank you once again.

You cannot work on a visitor visa.

My advice is to try for PR through an economic stream.

As an RN you may be able to immigrate as a skilled worker or obtain a work permit.

It is illegal to work as a visitor in Canada. To work in Canada, you must find an employer who is willing to give you a full time job offer and who can obtain an approved LMIA - then you must apply for a work permit. It's generally very difficult to find an employer willing to go through this process.

I believe you can apply for temporary visitor visa and she can write a letter of invitation for you.

Thank you so much once again for your infos. Sir, I am worried that I might not be granted for a PR because of my age. What about to apply in Manitoba? Can i apply there without a sponsor? As i understood, a friend or a relative can help for sponsorship but the problem is, i don't know anyone there.

Sorry for the so many queries. God bless!

Sir, follow-up question with regards to temporary visitor visa? For how long can we stay there and what can we do aside from visiting the place of Canada?

Thank you once again.

How long you can stay depends on the CBSA officer upon entry.

You can do nothing aside from visit. As said above, working as a visitor is illegal.
