Hi All,

My grandmother's sister who is my great or grand aunt is living in Ontario and a Canadian Citizen living in Canada. My great/grand aunt's kids are also Citizens of Canada. Can I get points for being their relative if I qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Category application?

Please help.

Thank you.

You will receive points if you have relatives in the following category:

Relatives in Canada
You, or your accompanying spouse or common-law partner, have a relative (parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, child of a parent, sibling, child of a grandparent, aunt or uncle, or grandchild of a parent, niece or nephew) who is residing in Canada and is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Based on this definition, your great aunt's children don't qualify.

Thank you Scylla for your response, what about my great/grant aunt would she qualify for the points?

It only mention aunt or uncle but not great/grand aunt/uncle...

No - a grant/great aunt/uncle do not qualify. Only the relatives on the CIC's list qualify.
