Hi there,
Long time lurker, first time poster and all that. I've used the search function but am still unable to find an exact hit for what I'm after - hopefully someone on here can help me briefly.
Here's the situation: I'm a Brit (since birth), living in England with my Canadian wife (who moved to England in 2005 on an ancestry visa but who is still 100% Canadian).
We're about to submit our application for her to sponsor me into Canada so that we can move there permanently.
I paid the sponsorship fees and my application fee (total $550CAD) using my credit card.
From what I gather, the receipt form needs to be completed with a name and address to tie it to our application. However most people seem to suggest one of two conflicting things:
1. The credit card holder should complete the form for 'security purposes' or
2. The sponsor should complete the form
Could someone clarify for me whether (given our situation above) my details (credit card holder) or my wife's details (sponsor) should be put on the form?
Many thanks!
Andy
P.S. Have read the note on the CIC site about how the Permanent Residency fee will be taken later, I notice that this sentence is immediately followed by something along the lines of "we suggest paying the permanent residency fee at the start of the application process to speed things up... Question: Should I make a second payment of $490CAD and print a second receipt (and fill it in) to cover this, or should I just forget the PR fee until the application is approved? Thanks!
