Hello, hoping someone can shed some light, or perhaps someone else went though a similar situation.
I have applied to sponsor my spouse (in land) He has 2 daughters overseas, one of which we requested to be excluded from the family class due to non-compliance of the mother, and the daughter simply has no desire to come to Canada. We provided a stat declaration with our application and requested that we proceed without that daughter.
Since applying in March 2022, I received approval to sponsor and my spouse received approval to apply as a permanent resident. He also received his work permit in August 2022.
The complying daughter has completed her medical exam.
We just receivedd a letter in Jan 2023 regarding the other daughter, and that she now needs to provide a Statement of No Intention, and we are required to again submit a stat declaration. This daughter turned 18 after we submitted the application, so I'm assuming they are just confirming that she/we understand the extent of excluding her, and that she cannot apply in the future, as she is now considered an adult? Maybe?
We were able to get a letter written by the daughter and signed, stating she has no desire to come to Canada now or in the future, and we got another stat declaration just confirming that both the daughter and my spouse understand that by excluding her, she cannot be sponsored in the future.
Curious if this will be enough, or if anyone else has advice with this? We are super anxious, as the letter indicates our application can be refused if the supporting documents are not satisifactory to the officer.
Thanks everyone!
