Hi All,

i made little mistake; me and wife will apply together as one application. However, I paid fee for both of us seperately, so now we have two fee receipts. We still have not mailed the application. Kindly suggest should we pay fee again as one application or let it go this way. I just read in citizenship application guide that fee for all applicants should be paid together.

Second should we send two cover letters or just one, as our application will be considered one? Kindly give suggestions on both questions. Thank you.

One cover letter would be enough.as far as fee is concerned, as much as i know, pay online again and send that receipt. cic only charges those receipts that are sent with the application package so just discard this receipt and get another combined one. I think search cic website and you ll get the information or call cic call center.

i think as far as u paid gee it does not matter. But call cic helpline and confirm from them instead on forum

The fee issue aside its usually advisable for adult applicants to apply separately and include the kids as dependents for one of the adults (although kids details must be included in both applications). The rationale here is that if there are delays due to issuance of an RQ then the whole file is held up. You can't split files if RQ is due to residency reasons as opposed to say Quality Control/program integrity. Test fails can get split.

Hi Masafiri,

" You can't split files if RQ is due to residency reasons as opposed to say Quality Control/program integrity." can you please explain this. RQ files can be separated if RQ is issued due to quality control ?? How would we know that RQ is issued due to residency issues or due to quality control ?

Hi Moti,

Another question I just paid fee again this time together for all applicants but the fee receipt has only my name on it. The amount paid is for both of us, i.e $800. Should I write name of my spouse by hand on the receipt or its fine to mail it this way? Thank you.

write the name and DOB of your wife on the receipt. I will second Masafiri that applying separately is better than applying together.
