Family and FSW application together???

Hi,

Is it possible to have a FSW and family class PR application running simultaneously together. I have already applied last Nov as FSW. I recently got married to a canadian citizen. Can i apply again as family class if my wife sponsors me? Thanks.

Yes, your wife can sponsor you under family class, even with an FSW application in process. With that said, however, I have read cases on CanLII where persons who applied under FSW but were rejected who later or concurrently applied under Family Class were placed under increased scrutiny because the previous application indicated an interest in immigrating, so CIC questioned their motives in marrying their Canadian spouse.

You can, but it will definitely raise Red flags in your application as you would be observed as "Interested" in immigration in your spousal category case.

You can have concurrently running applications for immigration. You may or may not be under scrutiny based on how strong your FSW application was to begin with. If it were very weak, they might take another harder look at your spousal application, however if it is quite strong they will not really bat an eye as you would technically be qualified to immigrate under either one.

Of course you married your spouse for love so the attachment of Condition 51 to a spousal application means nothing, anyway.

Yes, you can. You can have multiple concurrent applications running at the same time. You can then choose to become a PR based on which is processed first.
