hello everyone,

maybe there are people who unintentionally provided misleading information in their application form and got refused? I failed to disclose my previous US visa refusal because I was too quick in reading and answering application questions, I understood they were asking only about Canada and now I don't know how I should explain this happening in my new application... Has anyone any advice?

Yes, you should mention it.. If they ban you for misrepresentation, it's 5 years... Better to make sure that nothing is omitted that could affect the CIC decisions for your application.

how should I explain this? That I was too quick in reading application questions and unintentionally marked the option "no"?

Just tell them the truth, you made a mistake and want to fix it.

It depends of with type of application, but you should re-fill the form properly, write a explanation letter and submit it to CIC as soon as possible.

Probably you should call CIC and ask how to submit it, by email, regular mail or perhaps using this link:

I cannot fix my previous application form, I was told to fill out a new application. Now I am worried and I hope this will not effect my new application, I hope the officers will believe my story which is completely genuinine as I am fully aware of the fact that to provide misleading information is a fraud and I would have never done this intentionally.

Maybe you can call CIC and ask them to withdraw the application for you and make the other one.

this was about half a year ago :) now I am preparing the documents to apply for a spouse open work permit and I am a bit worried about my past US visa refusal and that I was refused Canadian work permit, but I will explain everything in a letter and I hope I will be fine
