Hello,
My final co-pr was stamped on passport on April 16, 2018 and received passport on April 20th, 2018 evening. I was single when my passport was stamp and got married on April 19th, 2018. I completed my landing at Toronto Pearson Airport on April 22nd, 2018 and by mistake was forgot to report about my marital status changed to C.B.S.A officer. I realized that on April 23rd, 2018 and so I submitted case specific inquiry form to notify about my mistake. I have below questions.

Now I can never sponsor my wife in future?
did someone made same mistake and what was the resolution?

Thanks.

You needed to contact CIC, add your new spouse to your application and get new COPR (in addition to police clarence and medical exam for your spouse).
Not just change your status with CBSA officer.

It's too late now. You can never sponsor your wife. And you have committed misrepresentation.

Basically, you are screwed. You committed major misrepresentation on your own app, and your wife can NEVER be sponsored by you.

You only have 2 options here if you ever want to live with your wife in Canada.
1. If your wife qualifies on her own for express entry of some other economic stream, she can apply for PR on her own with nothing to do with you.
2. Renounce your own PR status, return to your home country, and then try again from scratch to apply for PR but this time include your wife as spouse.

There are no other options.

Hi, I understand that by mistake I have misrepresented. I visited immigration lawyer for advise on this matter. he said that you have made a mistake but you have informed the IRCC within 48 hours so you are not in problem. Also, he notarized my landing paper and wrote a letter for me and said to submit to Nova scotia office by email to change my marital status. I asked him that I have read that I can never sponsor my wife in future, is that true? he said that you have informed IRCC within time period by yourself so that is not true. Also, I asked him did you had same case in the past, and he said that I have done many and no one had any issue. so now I am really very confused. the last option I see to call my wife is on student permit. I haven't received any reply from IRCC about it but let's see what they say.

Can someone provide me email address for nova scotia office so I can send them an email or case specific inquiry form is the only option?

I have never heard of the 48 hour grace period. I am not an expert so I can't definitively deny it but I've been on this forum for a long time and I have never heard of an instance where what your lawyer said was true

You have not notified them "within the time period", as that would have been BEFORE landing. No idea why this lawyer is telling you to send a notarized copy of your COPR to an office in Nova Scotia. That makes zero sense.

Your spouse is excluded from the Family Class. You have landed and you cannot amend your app now.

Just do whatever the lawyer says and pray all goes well.

Aren't Lawyers notoriously wrong in situations like this? I don't think i'd trust a lawyer who is getting paid.. versus many on this forum who spend their day, with NOTHING to gain from it, on this forum helping. The people who are telling you the lawyer is wrong are seniors who have almost seen / heard / read it all.. and have come out right most of the time..

Just saying.

This lawyer is a complete idiot and is trying to scam you.

There is no "grace period", as you've already committed the misrepersentation. In addition to the fact she wasn't declared, the fact your wife never completed a medical exam in your own PR app means you can NEVER SPONSOR HER.

Hopefully you haven't paid any money to this so-called lawyer.

No, it's obviously a divorce done solely for purpose of averting your misrepresentation and you still won't be allowed to sponsor her.

If you can get visitor status you can stay as a visitor. You will have some time to leave once PR is officially terminated.

while i am on visitor visa, does it call inland applicant?
I don't understand your question.

is it possible to put in request to re-open my application?
100% NO.

Can my wife apply for Student visa?
Sure, if she gets acceptance to a Canadian school, has sufficient funds, and can pay international student fee, would be good chance to have study visa approved.

i meant i have renounced my PR and still living in Canada on Visitor. let's say i apply for PR again with my wife, am i being called inland canada applicant? i have seen for inland applicant if you are lucky the file gets reviewed within 2 to 3 months. but let's say i moved back to india and reapply through EE it takes 6 months.

Can i apply for visitor at the same time i have applied for renounce my PR?

You must apply to renounce your PR status first, and have your status officially terminated before you would be eligible to apply for visitor status.

You should be prepared to leave Canada once your PR status is gone, and apply for TRV to return as visitor from home country. I'm really not sure if you can switch to visitor status after PR is terminated, while staying in Canada.

I read below line on IMM 5782 E form which is for renouncing PR.

I will only be enter or remain in Canada if i meet all regular requirements for a temporary resident (Visitor, worker, student).

Question - before i landed my work permit was valid until 25/08/2018 does that help me to stay in canada anyhow?

I am so sorry to ask so many question but trying to figure out the way.
