Hello there,

here is my situation, I filed for refugee in May 2004, I was denied that and was ordered to leave Canada in 60 days, that was in Nov 2009. I oblige and cop orated with the authorities. I bought my own ticket and took it into the enforcement center in Mississauga, Ontario. I then returned to my home country before the deadline in 2009.

At the airport I was met with an immigration officer who walk me to the plane and make sure I was seated. I was given a package and upon travel document. When I reach at my home country the local immigration officer took the travel document and open the package. In the package had my National ID card alone. There was no certificate of departure now my passport.

I now may marry my girlfriend in Canada, but she wants me to visit there again, however my concern is the following;

1) I did not receive my Certificate of Departure, how can I obtain this?
2) Do i have to apply for an ARC? and what would be the procedure?
3) I also not sure what kinda deport order i receive from this scenario.

Thank you in Advance,
Suresh.

These are all very good questions, Not having the certificate of departure should be fine it was entered into the system you left. I am surprised you were given no paper work but, it sounds to me like maybe you were given a departure order, tho without really knowing the type of order you were given these other questions can't really be answered. do you know the office that you went thru? could you call them and have them look it up for you? or you could order your GCMS notes it should be there... finding out the type of order will get you the answers you need. Good Luck!
