Eye test covered with ohip ?

Hi,
My wife tries to get an appointment from a eye doctor for a regular checkup.
He is asking for a $90 fee, says its not covered by ohip.
Can anyone confirm that.

If your wife is older than 20 years old but younger than 65 - it's not covered.

If you or your wife or both have supplementary insurance through your employers, they may have something for vision care like $50 or 60 for en eye test every one or two years.

IMHO, it should if the ophthalmologist prescribed it. However, the lens (if you need it) will not be covered by OHIP but only by extended health care insurance (usually at work)
