I applied for Permanent Residency through EE Federal Skilled workers on June 16, 2017. I was notified that medicals passed about 2 weeks later, then heard nothing for another 5 months. Ordered my GCMS notes (through GetGCMS) in December 2017, did not receive them until the end of February. No new information-- said the same thing as MyCIC, which is "in progress" on every section except medicals, which said "passed."
In July, requested to withdraw my application and get a refund for fees paid. I got more instructions (send a signed letter to this address, etc.) and completed them. Then, I got the following email last week:
"We have received your request to withdraw your permanent residence application under the Federal Skilled Worker Class. In your letter you have also requested that the fees be refunded to you. Please note that as processing of your application has commenced on July 11, 2017, you are no longer eligible to receive a refund for the processing fees. You are eligible to a refund of the Right of Permanent Residence fee. Furthermore, your application was finalized on August 3, 2017. A Ready for Visa letter was sent via email to the address on file. A follow-up letter was set on October 26, 2017 and again on January 8, 2018, both via email to [my email]. Should you still wish to withdraw and receive the refund of $980, please confirm with another signed letter. Should you wish to reconsider the withdrawal and still come to Canada, we will re-open the application and send you new medicals as the ones on file have expired.
Please respond within 7 days of the date of this letter to inform us of your decision."
WHAT?! There has got to have been a huge mistake made. As of today, MyCIC still says "in progress" for everything except medicals, and I never received anything by either email or postal mail. I only have 1 email address, and I searched every possible date, search term, and folder, and there is nothing.
Has this happened to anyone else? These dates don't make sense, first of all. How could my application have been finalized less than a month after they started, and how could I never have received notification about anything, AND nothing in GCMS notes or on MyCIC?
Anyone know?
