Hi Everyone,

Last Wednesday i sent the sponsorship & immigration application for my wife to the processing centre in Mississauga, I made sure all applications and documents are filled in correctly and accurately with all the supporting evidence included and organized.

However, stupid me :( was so anxious i'm finally doing this long waited step, and sent copy 2 of the fees receipt i paid for online BLANK!!! i didn't fill in the payee information! it is included with the application of course and my information is all over the documents. I'm just wondering will they be nice enough to fill that in for me or ignore it, or the application will be returned to me?
If anybody here had a similar situation please advise, i feel so sad and stupid after all this effort i missed doing such stupid thing!!!

They should be receiving the application anytime today, so can i send another copy of this filled receipt with a letter stating the situation so they can put them together before things get late??? please advise urgently, the call centre just is always busy

We sent the wrong copy of the receipt that we got online. The credit card receipt instead of the official one hat arrived in the email. I faxed a letter to CIC M explaining that I had sent the wrong copy and that I was faxing the correct one. The called about 3 weeks later to say the would match it with my file. It wasn't a problem because they could still see we had paid. Include your sponsor and applicants names and relevant information and fax a copy of the completed receipt and see what happens. This is a small issue not a big one. I can't guarantee that they wont return your file but if they can still see you paid then they probably won't.

Thanks a lot Heather! You really made my day! My wife and I been working on this thing for too long preparing and filling out forms, getting evidence so everything will be ready and we get together ASAP, when i discovered this mistake i was do depressed. Thanks a lot..

P.S. DO you know how i can check the status of the application online without knowing the client ID because they haven't sent it to me yet?

You won't be able to check until they process your sponsorship. You can use the receipt number (ours started with an R). You can check every day and it will tell you that it can't find anything until the case is activated. You can also sign up for mathews ecas tracker and that will notify you when your case is activated. I think sponsorship is taking about a month.

There is so much work involved putting this together that we all tend to overthink it and go a bit crazy. Best of luck.

Hi, I understand your frustration. IT may not be a big problem, because its not a document that you have to sign but at least you applied in Mississauga and there they open the applications pretty soon. My advice is trying to contact them.I know you did but try again until you get the line. You are lucky not to have applied inland. Imagine they open applications after almost 3 months that you send them and then if they discover an error(maybe not your type of error but who knows?) they send them back to you and it's like you didnt do anything.... back in the line...scary......Anyway I'm positive you will be able to correct and fill, maybe send in advance to mississauga your info receipt filled properly. Good luck!!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you so much for your help and support, I will be trying to contact CIC to see what's going on, also e-Case tracker is pretty cool tool...it saves me lots of headache logging into that thing everyday to find out nothing has changed!

I wish you all the best of luck and speed in processing your applications.....well, as well as mine :-)

Thanks!
