Phew! I about had a heart attack. I got DM the day after you, and I'm thinking, naturally, of the worst case for the both of us. This is what happens to your nerves after 6 months of waiting, knowing that the people in charge of your future are particularly inept.

Thrilled to hear that I misread that.

Have you located the proper way to pay the fees? I seem to remember having an email from the CIC showing me how to do it. I can pass it along if need be.

Imagine a persons nerve after more than double that timeframe .... We are November 2014 applicants. My patience, optimism and attitude towards this whole process is rather negative as of late

Well I just try to remain thankful that they do proper checks and keep CANADA safe with the option of immigrating as a common law couple. My biggest issue is the same as most. The not knowing not having any idea of timing. The difficulty of now knowing when this will be over so we can make appropriate plans. I'm starting to really wonder if it will happen before Christmas. The amount of friends and family asking all the time when will it be completed and look at us confused when we can't say ... It's simply crazy !!

Got ya all...April 2014!...lol

Good lord. The three of you could have canceled your applications, resubmitted, and still likely have seen a faster turnaround than you have now.

Unbelievably unjust. I wish there was something I could do to help you guys out. Alas, I have zero influence/power over any of it.

I'm really sorry. If you're ever in Toronto, the beer is on me!

oh Andrew, you should know CIC is never that easy.. ???

i woke up this morning and checked ECAS to see if they had updated to say they'd sent out COPR (patience is not my strong suit hahah)....

and my Decision Made has been changed back to In Process. i don't know whether to laugh or cry.

please believe me when i say that i don't mind not having DM yet. i was shocked to see it change to DM so soon, and completely recognize how unfair it is to those of you who applied in 2014. i honestly don't mind still being IP.

but i've spent 3 days on cloud 9 - and, as unfair as it is, i'm sure even the 2014 applicants can understand how happy i've been - thinking that we were done. that we can now start making plans to be together and get our lives started again. to have that snatched away is painful. if we'd been IP all weekend, like we've been for months, today would have been just another day and no problem at all. but now i'm sad and worried, because i don't know what that means for our application.

hence the phone call to CIC, to find out what this means. and the girl was like, "oh.. well.. you know.. it could have been technical difficulties last week... or it could be technical difficulties right now.. or the Visa Officer could have hit the wrong button by mistake.... you'll just have to wait and see.." ???

so i've refrained from updating about the change, because i want to give it a few working days and see what happens. have you heard of this happening before?

So sorry to hear that. I have seen it happen before and generally the application goes back to DM in a couple of weeks. I cannot recall who but user Bemsee applied in 2014 and their ECAS never went to DM at all, they just received it in the post.

Forget about the call center, insert joke about a chocolate teapot here. Your best bet is to send an email and/or a case specific enquiry to London. In the email put Urgent and your file number. Be concise in your questions and do not ramble.

They may not reply but I have had replies from them in my recent communications with them.

Good luck, keep us posted.
