I applied an Extension of visit visa for my mom online last July 1. I got an email update this October 16 that she needs to perform medical examination. They granted her 6 months extension, the expiration date is February 01, 2019. She have to go back home and booked ticket, Her flight is on November 11. So she only have few more weeks to stay here. The medical instructions stated that you are responsible to inform the IRCC if you are unable to perform medical examination.

Does she still need to undergo medical exam though she's going to stay here for few more weeks? Please help!

Hi. Similar situation from the Philippines. I applied for my nanny last June for TRV and was given single entry for her June to December. However our trip was delayed to December-January, hence, she needs an extension. I applied last Oct 1 and til now no decision yet (13 working days). We the sponsors were given 10yrs multiple entry (we also have US visa).

She was granted the extension contingent on doing the medical. This should be stated in the comments section of the Visitor Record. If she doesn't, she is not in compliance with the extension requirements.

Completely different situation. OP is asking about a visitor extension, nothing to do with a TRV.

You haven't given actual dates. If she is flying to Canada in Dec before the TRV expires, there is no issue.

Thanks for the reply but our travel dates would be dec 15-jan 15,2019. Her visa expires dec 17, 2018. Hence we are requesting for an extension

As I said, as long as she flies before the TRV expires, there is no issue. The TRV does not need to be valid for the stay in Canada. Her current TRV is fine for this trip.

Also, there is no extension for TRVs. She would have needed to apply for a new one.

Can i just call them and let them know. Are they going to be considerate about it?

Will it still be ok if the return ticket is January 15, 2019 and her visa is valid only until Dec 17, 2018?

Thank you for your response.

Yes. As I said, the visa has nothing to do with her stay in Canada.
