Extension of Temporary Resident Permit-still haven't heard anything!

I am going absolutely crazy!!! My bf applied for an extension of his temporary permit (he's an Irish citizen so he's Visa exempt) online through CIC on February 1st. We haven't heard anything yet. We extended it as we have currently submitted an application for sponsorship.

I saw a few people's posts re: immigration asking them to send their passport. Does this mean we would have already been asked to submit his passport if he was approved? help please

1. I assume you send the extension request to Vegreville, where the processing time is 52 days for on-line applications, and they are working on applications submitted 21/01/13.
2. As he is TRV exempt, he won't have to send his passport, if approved, he will receive his visitor extension in the mail.

I'm so happy to report that my bf received his Visitor Record in the mail today Since we are in the process of submitting a PR application (common-law), he needed a temporary record (he's from a visa exempt country) and I had requested one for longer than 6 months and thankfully they gave us an entire year!!!

I am also going crazy here re the extension..

I applied online and I noticed that there are 2 different kinds of applications under the extension category.. One I filled out had 2 forms that needed to be filled out, passport photo and couple of other things.. The other kind of application had like 5 forms etc and im freaking out because i havent received any information re my application, no file number etc?? help meee ;D
