Extension of study permit - Doing an additional course

Hi,

According to the Student Partners Program, you get a work permit equivalent to the duration of your course upon completion. I'm also interested in pursuing another course (both 1 yr programs in the same college) upon completing the first one.

Do I have to work for a year before I take up the next course, or can I finish both the courses back to back and be eligible for a 2 yr work permit. Anyone got any info?
