I'm applying for spousal sponsorship and am on my post-work graduate work permit. I'm afraid that my post work graduate work permit will expire before I get my PR through spousal sponsorship. Should I apply for a open work permit with my spousal sponsorship application, would I be eligible? I have a year left on my permit and from my understanding, this spousal sponsorship process can take more than a year.

What other options do I have? I know there's a bridging open work permit available for express entry applicants but what about spousal sponsorship? Thanks!

Bridging open work permit is not available to you. It's only available to those applying through an econimic immigration stream.

Yes - the solution is to apply for spousal sponsorship inland and include an OWP with the application.

One more question - the spousal sponsorship instructions says that I should insert my open work permit application with the spousal sponsorship application. But, on the open work permit application instructions it says that "Most people must apply online. You can only apply on paper if you can’t apply online because of a disability or because there is a problem with the online application."

Just confirming that I should still apply through paper, include it in my spousal sponsorship application?
