what I saw on the guide list, it has indicated:

"3. Proof of language proficiency for all applications submitted on or after November 1, 2024"

If I already got a PGWP from 2023 and I am about to expire because of my passport, and try to extend it, do I still need to take this language test?

My extension application (passport issue) was submitted on January 12 and approved on April 8(I did not provide proof of language proficiency) . It is certain that the lack of language requirements will not be a reason for your rejection (I confirmed the same answer by calling and webform).

A possible explanation is that you obtained the PGWP before November 1 instead of applying for a completely new permit after that. I went by paper mail, which means you need the transcript, personal information(Mentioned in the list), completion letter, explanation letter (due to special reasons for extension instead of a new PGWP), and the relevant application forms and fee receipts.

Finally, if you are really afraid that they will reject you and you now have a qualified proof of language proficiency, you are welcome to attach them as support.
