I have dependent work permit in Ontario and my OHIP is valid till Nov 15 2016. Unfortunately, My husband doesn't have any more extensions left for his work permit. So, i have enrolled in college and changed my status to Student visa. That way my husband also gets his work permit to work as a dependent. Now, can i extend my OHIP after converting to student status? I am 3 months pregnant now and expecting in March 2017. What should i do? None of the private insurances cover pregnancy as it is pre existing condition. New born care, all tests & medications might be expensive. Any thoughts or options?
