Extension in stay - Granted

Hi all,

just wanted to update the fellow members here seeing people here are dubious about applying for an extension.

My wife (sponsorship in progress) is here on a TRV. her 6 month stay was to expire early march. We are expecting our first baby (super excited about it) - so I applied for an extension to have the baby here who is due in august.
We just got approval for extension in stay till November, 2014.

I have very similar case as yours, it'd be really helpful if you can answer. We are applying for my wife's visitor visa:

• I am PR of Canada and my wife is here in Canada with study permit, her study permit is expiring in 2 months and we want to apply for her visitor visa
• We have recently (this month) already applied for her spousal sponsorship and we didn't file OWP application with it

I was wondering what should be the answer to the question in our case for below question as both of us are in Canada? "Are you accompanying a family member who has status in Canada?". YES or NO?

Also, I assume you applied online...

what kind of proofs did you attach?
As they don't ask for marriage certificate or anything how did you make your case solid? did you provide any additional documents which they are not asking for?
Did you link your sponsorship file with visitor visa application? if yes, how did you do that?

I think its common sense to include a copy of the marriage certificate once you state that you are married.
