My mother in law is here now in Canada holding a tourist visa (multiple entry) for 6 months. We are planning to extend her stay for another 6 months, did she need to undergo medical? Thank you
Not at the time of application. If she is required to do a medical examination, the instructions will be sent along with the visitor record/extension. The instructions will also indicate the timeframe given to complete the medical examination.nismopinoy said:My mother in law is here now in Canada holding a tourist visa (multiple entry) for 6 months. Do we need to get medical insurance?bizzy said:hi, yes, you will receive a note from immigration that your mo-in-law has to undergo medical since she is now staying Canada for mor than six months.
i extended my mom's stay here and she has to take medical exam.
You do not have to purchase medical insurance if you have regular TRV (Temporary Visitors Visa). However, it is recommended to be protected from unexpected financial loss in case of medical emergency.nismopinoy said:Do we need to get medical insurance?
You don't need to buy insurance if Regular TRV, only those with Supervisa are required. But for peace of mind, you may opt to buy an insurance should anything happen the parent is covered.nismopinoy said:Do we need to get medical insurance?
Yes you need medical examination for your mother if she is staying here for more than 6 months. I had to do it for my mom as well so I know.. just do the medical exam and send the extension request to cic and it should be good.nismopinoy said:My mother in law is here now in Canada holding a tourist visa (multiple entry) for 6 months.
