Extension for common law

Hello, due to the circumstances, I am not able to start the common law process until April of 2017, I have been here for 1 month already and my 6 months should be up in April. To extend, should I ask for a year from April 2017? Should I also include I intend this for common law relationship? (I am from a Visa Exempt country) thank you!

Yes, you can ask for a year citing your common-law application.

However, it is WAY too early to be applying for an extension.

Yes I understand, as I am here now, I was going to apply in Feburary for an extension. It would be ok to ask for a year from april 2017 to april 2018? I am not able to start the year living together yet but I am near her and visit very very often.
