extending open work permit from inside Canada

Hi,
I have recently come to Canada by study permit with my husband. my husband has open work permit vias. my visa is valid until 2019/03/30 but unfortunately, my husband visa is valid till 2018/08/31. we are a family and I can not stay here without him. how can we extend his visa? it is a vital problem for us. please guide me how can we solve this problem. I do not know the process of extending his visa. please guide me completely step by step. where should I go? what should I do? please answer me accurately and fast.

did you husband got his previous open work permit from back home or he got it in canada ? which visa he had came this country first time ?
