Hey guys,

I need some help understanding the process of renewing my post grad work permit. My current work permit is due to expire in August 2013 and I applied for the CSQ with the Quebec Immigration office. I have been waiting for 3 months now. I am afraid it might take more than a year to get my CSQ and I am considering to apply for a new work permit. I have been working as a Service DEsk analyst for the past 3 months and I heard that there is something called the LMO that needs to be applied for to extend my stay?

ANy comments or guides are very much appreciated.

THanks

Post Graduate Work Permits cannot be extended.

If you want to continue working, then either your current employer will have to obtain an LMO and then you will have to obtain a new work permit - or you will have to find a new employer who can obtain an LMO and then you will obtain a new work permit.

More information about LMOs here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

Remember it is your employer who applies for the LMO See: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/workplaceskills/foreign_workers/index.shtml Note as you have a PGWP, the employer doesn't have to advertise.

Hey PMM... Help...!!! I'm in the exact same situation... My PGWP expiring Feb 13, 2013... I'm currently working and need to send out the LMO application soon (4months prior to expiry of PGWP)... What should be answer to the question "expected start date" in the LMO application... I've been working under my PGWP since June and will continue working until my PGWP expires... So that question is not applicable to me or should I answer Feb 14, 2013 (day after expiry of my PGWP)... And also folks with PGWP who have a permanent job offer answer "yes" to the question "is the job temporary with intent to permanent"

Another question...!!! Along with the LMO application does my employer have to send out any other document (such as, offer of employment, job description, my resume, NOC job description and working in canada websites wages classification)...???

1. The employer has to submit all the documents for the LMO except for the proof of advertising. S/he includes a copy of your work permit.
2. 14/02/13.
