Extending CIC security form deadlines

Hello,

I recently received a request for security checks from the UK and USA for my CEC application to be at their office within 60 days. The same day, I received my FBI form returned to me for not having high enough quality fingerprints. I sent it off with a new set immediately but I am worried I will not receive a clearance from them within the 60 days.

Does anyone have any experience with contacting CIC asking for an extension if I explain the situation? I have the UK check ready that I could send them in the meantime.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I had experience requesting CIC for an extension re my police cert.

CIC requested that early Nov 2012 and I was kinda worried that the Xmas holiday in Dec would slow things down [in both my home country and Canada] so I decided to send an early just-in-case email to CIC and hoping for an extension. I was thinking even if they are not granting it I did show my sincerity and intention to provide the police cert on time.

After 2 days, what I got in my inbox was like this:

Dear Sir/Madam,

We ask that you wait until the original deadline before requesting an extension. If for any reason you are not able to obtain the police certificates by the deadline, you can send an email on 01/01/2013 to request an extension. You must provide proof that you attempted to meet the original deadline.
