Extended stay abroad_How to justify??

Dear members,

I've stayed in Malaysia for a total period of 9 months (I am allowed only 3 months as a tourist, but I left to a nearby country each 3 months to renew my visa...). Now how could I justify this stay (reason) on my profile given I've been a job seeker? Should I write an explanation letter for that? If so what are some dos and don'ts for this kind of justifications?

Not really, it's just my "visa run" operations (twice) that might be seen like I was illegally working or so..
So is it better just not to explain anything? Thanks
