So there is a new facilitative measure to extend PGWP for an additional 18 months. See: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/post-graduation-work-permit-holders.html

My work permit expires July 06, 2023. If I am given an additional 18 month extension, then my total PGWP duration would be until January 06, 2025. My passport is valid until June 02, 2025. Everything should work out right, right?

NO. IRCC PGWP extension portal says I am not eligible because my passport validity is less than June 30, 2025. WTH??? Why would I need my passport to be valid until June 30, 2025 if the extension is for 18 months? I am so pissed of at this people right now. WTH is wrong with them? Why paint everyone with the same brush?

You are eligible; just not for the faster and free opt-in process. You must pay $155 for the application fees, but you will be eligible for the program.

Follow these steps here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/post-graduation-work-permit-holders/apply-in-canada.html

When you apply from the above link you will have to pay the fees and attach the fee receipt to your application.

Regardless of what it says, I would wait until tomorrow as they said they will send a email if you are eligible for the opt-in process by the 6th, and it is still the 6th.

If not, then you will have to apply and pay a fee.
