Extend WP

Hello,

I been working with a close work permit for almost 2 years, LMIA exempt from CPTP.
My Work permit expires Sept 2023, What is my other option to stay in Canada.
I'm already in the pool for EE, did my profile and everything, but what I want to know if I need to extend my employer specific WP doing the same employer portal to extend it or is there any other way to apply for an open work permit, while I wait for an invitation to PR.

I want to change employer at some point.

You won't qualify for an open work permit until you have received the invitation for PR and submitted your complete application.

If you want to switch employers while waiting for an invitation for PR, then you would need to find a new employer who is willing to give you a job offer and then apply for a closed work permit either based on your new job being LMIA exempt or based on an approved LMIA from your new employer.

So I can apply for I work permit when I submit the application and then just wait for an answer for any of those (PR or WP)? I’m just a little lost on what should I do

For now you need to file extension to your work permit and wait. I also recommend you to find a new employer who is ready to sponsor your PR application.
