Hi,

Current situation for me and my husband:
  • Receive file number for our PR application.
  • Visitor visa and work permit will expire on Mar. 16th, 2019.
  • Plan for a short trip outside Canada in Feb. for three weeks, will be back on Feb 21st.
  • I have a job offer(renewable yet the end date is Dec.31st 2019) and my husband has no job offer.
My question:

  1. Do I have a choice to extend my work permit, other than bridging my open work permit as my PR is being processed? Then even if my PR application get decline in the future, I can continue to work with my extended work permit.
  2. My job offer is renewable yearly(yet the end date is Dec.31st 2019), does this mean I'd better apply for a work permit till Dec. 31, 2019, or I may get rejected?
  3. If my husband has no job offer, he does volunteer work for a few months. Is he eligible for "visitor visa and open work permit"? He came to Canada in 2015 with visitor visa and Open work permit because my status, our visa and work permit expire at the same day.
  4. Can we apply online for both visa& permit at the same time, or I need to apply first work permit then visitor visa(because I work here so I can travel to Canada), and after I get approved for both then my husband applied after I get mine approved?

Thank very much for your help and insights in advance!
