Extend visitor stay online

hello friends

simple question, my 6 month visitor period is approaching and i need to apply for extension, i cannot seem to find how to do the online application. on government website when i click on the link "click here to extend your visitor visa online" it just takes me to the login page, after logging in, i don't see any specific mentioning of visitor visa extension.

of course i can mail in the package. but just want to know, is the online method working at all?

Did you try to follow through the visitor eligibility section in MYCIC to see if it directs you to extend stay as a visitor. No idea if that is the route but worth a look. Even if you apply on paper then expect you already know you are on implied status pending a decision.

I have applied for an extension twice ...both times via online. It is much faster if you apply online. Good luck.

If it is taking you to a log in page..I think you need to create an account to apply online. I am almost certain that is what I did...

thanks! i went through the visitor eligibility questionnaires and it seems it just started another visitor visa application. i didn't see any mentioning of anything related to extending visa.

thanks cindy, yes i have an account with which i have applied for my visa before. but after logging in it seems the only option is to start a new visa application. i don't see anything about extending visa.

I am applying for an extension for my mother as her 6months is approaching in 25 days. Any tips or advice? She has visited Canada before multiple times and never overstayed more than 1.5 months. This time she wants to help with my brother wedding plans.. So, any advice or tip would be highly appreciated
