I have traveled from US to Canada with my family recently, I have work permit and my spouse has visitor visa. Immigration office has given only 6 months of validity to my spouse though we request him that my spouse is dependent on me and need to accompany me for duration I m living in country.

Now she has been denied Health Card as she is temporary resident (less than 6 month) . Is there any way to get visitor records to get Health card ? My spouse needs immediate medical attention. Do I need to apply for her extension however there is long wait period for that. Please let us know if there any way to get visitor record ?

You can get a visitor record at the border but she would have to wait 3 months to get OHIP. The fact that she only has a 6 month visa may be an issue. It is very weird that your request for her visitor permit to be the same length as your work permit wasn't granted. Was there reason given? How long is your work permit?

You can go to the border. She would have to wait 3 months for OHIP to start no matter what. She has to be in Ontario for over 6 months to qualify but given her visa is only 6 months this may be an issue.
