Extend stay as a Visitor after PGWP

Hi everyone

My work permit expired after 18th June 2015 and before that I have applied for an extension as a Visitor. However the CIC put my profile onto someone else's and got all messed up. Anyway after I called them several times they finally got my case processed. Now my girlfriend(Canadian Citizen) and I are planning to visit my parents in China, but the time is quite uncertain.I have a few questions.

1)How long approximately will it take since my case was sent long before and is now under priority.
2) Whats next? I have submitted all files and if approved, do I need to send my physical passport or a medical check? Because all of these takes time.
3)If my case got approved, say a 3 months permit stay as a visitor(I have been told that normally visitor extension after work permit is valid for 3 months), will I be allowed to travel to other countries during that time?

Leaving Canada cancels your visitor extension. If you leave Canada - then once you return to Canada, you will be entering as a brand new visitor and will not be able to use your extension to re-enter the country.

Im now under implied status, does that mean I will not be able to leave and return to Canada? Since leaving cancels both implied status and visitor extension

As Scylla mentioned. Once you leave all your status would expire and you will be reassessed on re-entry as a new visitor.
