Hi All
I need your emergency help. Could you please answer my question? I came to canada with my husband last year. I have study permit and my husband has open work permit. Our permits are valid until december 2019. I have just finished my master studies and want to apply for post graduate work permit. Also I want to exend my husband's open work permit. He works in a printing house and his employer needs him. I saw a message and became worried because I thought I can simply extend my husband's open work permit. However, the message says that I should have a job and 3 pay slips to extend my husband's open work permit. But how is this possible? I have just graduated. It is impossible to have job and 3 pay slips now. What should I do? Please guide me. Thank you very much

You must have a NOC A, B or 0 job and be able to provide three pay slips in order to extend your husband's open work permit. It's only September so you have time to find a job - so this is very possible.

If you do not meet this requirement by the time your husband's work permit is set to expire, he will need to apply to change his status to visitor and then stop working as soon as his open work permit expires.

The only other option would be for his employer to obtain an LMIA so that your husband can switch to a closed work permit.

The best option is for you to focus on finding a NOC A, B or 0 role so that your husband can extend his open work permit.
