Hi:

A little background.

My family's CRS score is 432 and except my wife giving IELTS again (with two toddlers, it is extremely difficult), there's is no way I can add any more points. She can help add 4 more. I see that the latest draw was for 436. So, alternatively, I was thinking of applying for work to add 50 points. I currently reside in US and have been working here in IT for close to 7 years.

So my question is: as I look around for jobs in Canada, most specify no visa sponsorship. Is it the case or am I being mislead?

To get the 50 points, you not only need to secure a permanent job offer in Canada but your employer in Canada also needs to obtain an approved LMIA. Generally speaking, it's extremely difficult to find employers willing to go through the LMIA process. If you want to try - you'll need to apply for jobs through reputable sites such as indeed and linkedin.

Thanks scylla. I've seen that to be the case. Again, it may be a broad question, but is 432 a good enough score?
