IME number is not asked anywhere in e-APR if you are submitting it for the first time. You do not need it.
yes but still why did they put that sentence on the medical exam section

Hello everyone, i hope this is the right forum . I created a new topic asking this but maybe somebody here can help me:

In the ITA application, when filling in the PERSONAL HISTORY, in the type of activity, between the options "employment" and "government", I am confused as to which one I should select.

I have been working for a Government ministry for the last 7 years. This is my most important work experience, and is stated in my work history.

But on Personal History, should I type it as Government?

We have had our PR application in for 5 months through the EE Canadian Experience route.

Our status board on MYCIC shows medicals passed and couple of others in progress. On the 23rd of Dec we got out 'Final Request' email. They request passports/or copies of (depending on which country you're from) and larger passport style photographs.

I promptly returned them by express post and they received them before the new year......

My questions are.....

Is this the last step?
If so, how long until PR is granted?
and am I allowed to work for another company before I officially land, currently on a closed permit? (leave/return to Canada)

I only ask as I am being offered a new job, and the employer is keen for a start date

Any advice would be gratefully received

Many thanks

Ben

Thanks for your reply! May I clarify though..does it mean that this is the official link for making payment? It is a bit confusing why there are different links to make payment though they are both under the Canada website?

No need to worry if you receive ITA now. Once you receive your new passport, you need to upload scan copies of both new and old passport and explain it in LOE.
Thank you very much. Exactly the same thing happened. Received ITA yesterday.

Hi Seniors,

I have a query regarding Police Clearing Certificate.

I am a secondary applicant and have stayed in USA twice ( 4 months each time) Sep-Dec 2013 and Aug -Dec 2015

1) Being a secondary applicant , Do I need Police Clearing Certificate ??
2) If Yes, then Is it required in my case since I haven't stayed there for 6 or more months at a stretch??
3) I guess it takes 10-12 weeks to get it from FBI. How does one get it in time once an ITA is received?

Any help is highly appreciated.

Yes. You need your medical exam too.

2) If Yes, then Is it required in my case since I haven't stayed there for 6 or more months at a stretch??

Doesn't matter. If you have stayed in any country for a TOTAL (irrespective of whether it is continuous or not), you require a PCC.

3) I guess it takes 10-12 weeks to get it from FBI. How does one get it in time once an ITA is received?

That would be up to you. People should start getting PCC well in advance (especially FBI PCC because it takes a long time). People have been successful in submitting the e-APR before they received FBI PCC (They included a LOE explaining that they have ordered for a FBI PCC but they haven't received it yet). If you are planning to do this, then I would recommend you to wait till your ITA is close to expiry (around 80 - 85 days) and then submit the e-APR.

Any help is highly appreciated.

I am not sure why there are different links. However, I have seen quite a few applicants who made payment through that link.

Depends on the VO. Anywhere from a couple of days to a month.

and am I allowed to work for another company before I officially land, currently on a closed permit? (leave/return to Canada)

Apparently, NO. Check this. Your new employer has to file a new LMIA if you want to work for them.

I only ask as I am being offered a new job, and the employer is keen for a start date

Once you receive your passports back with visa/COPR, you can activate your Permanent Residence by "landing". Once you are a PR, you are free to work for anyone you want.

Any advice would be gratefully received

Many thanks

Hi Raj,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I have few more questions in this regard

1) Is state clearance also required along with FBI?

2) I spoke to 2 consultants just now and one of them said a soft copy of the certificate would do as it needs to be uploaded and I can take a print out if required. Other one said both will be required. Any idea about this?

3) Hopefully I will be travelling to UK at the time of getting an ITA. Would I need PCC from UK as well in that case , since my current residence would be UK at that time( less than 6 months though)

Thanks in Advance :)
