Dear Gurus,
I'm HR Executive with 7 years relevant experience, having MBA in HR, IELTS with 7 band and aged 32. My score is 378 at the moment. Any suggestions to increase my score? I understand that a job offer can definitely boost it but how about retaking IELTS for 7787? If I get CLB 9, to what number I can raise my score from 378?
If you hit CLB 9, your points could go up by 50 or more. Mid 400s is a competitive score.

while filling "education history section details" in my EE profile today. I got confused and need guidance.

Has Muhammad Zeeshan finished high school or any higher education (including university, college or vocational training)? I put "yes"

It then asks field of study ?
I want to put " engineering " since i did M.S in "mechanical engineering" .. but there is no such option .. so what should i select ?

"Science, Applied" option ? ............. ( i think it is the closest option available )

Also i did my M.S in "evening program" in my home-country. which started from June-2012 and ended in Dec-2014 (2.5 years-5 semesters) .

So if i put these duration as start and ending dates.. the next question confuses me a bit again.

it asks "Complete/full academic years (Supported by a final transcript.) ?"

so should i put 2.5 years ? since my final transcript show this entire duration ...
or should i put "one and one-half years" since i got this length of program written in ECA reports, after my M.S credential evaluation - ( i think they converted my part time program to equivalent full time Canadian M.S study program )..

next it asks "Full-time/part-time study?"
i think i should put "Part time" since i was studying in parallel with full time job and spent less then 15 hours in class per week ... what do u say ?

I am sorry if i sound foolish or irritating for asking such questions, but help is really needed ..

Thanks in advance..

Yes, you have to create two different WES accounts and pay 285 CAD separately for each. There is no option to combine the WES report.

Hi Experts,

We(me & my husband) are planning to apply for PR under CEC.
I am not working for the past 1 year (home maker), moreover don't have skilled experience in Canada.
My husband has got 6.5,6.5,7,6 - LRSW in IELTS.
Currently we have got 432 points.
He is earning $35000 per annum, $2400 per month.
He is working with PGWP & has got job offer but dont have lmia.

  • Can he apply PR for us together through CEC category?
  • Does his income in any way affect us in applying for PR?

If I appear for IELTS & evaluate my degree, then our score will raise upto 452.
Anyway it will take some time for me to take ielts & evaluate my degree.

  • Is it possible for us to update the score & credential evaluation details once after we submit our initial application?

While filling Express Entry Profile,

In Personal Details:
Under Family,

How much money (in Canadian dollars) will my husband bring to Canada to support themselves and their family?

We both are in Canada & moreover going to apply for PR under CEC

  • In this case do we need to show some amount in our bank account?
  • If so how much & for how long period do we have to save it in our account?
  • My husband is earning $2400 monthly, till now we dont have any savings in our account.
Apart from our expenses we can show $500 in our account is that ok?

My husband took 4 years to finish MBA here in Canada with some breaks in between but his period of studies is 2 years.

In Study and Languages:
Under Education History,

  • In "Complete/Full academic years" do we have to write 4 or 2?
  • whereas in "from/to" can we fill the exact starting/ending month/year?

In Work History:
Under Intended Work in Canada,

Does xxx have a job offer in canada?
The offer must:
be for full-time, non-seasonal and permanent work
meet different requirements depending on type of job (i.e. some need apprenticeships and certification)

He is working with PGWP & has got job offer but dont have lmia.

  • So, What do we have to answer for the question, Does xxx have a job offer in Canada, Yes or No?

Under Work History,

  • Do we have to fill only skilled jobs?
  • Is it for the past 10 years of work history?
Please help needed.

Thanks,
Lekshmi

Hello experts;

I submitted my profile on Thursday night and I got an invite for Ontario PNP on Friday. My score is 449. I was wondering whether should i apply for the ontario pnp or wait for few more draws to be done. Also if i applied for pnp then would i get an invite from cic if the cutoff falls below 449 while my pnp application is under review. Also i was referring through the application guide for Ontario pnp but there is nothing clearly mentioned about the documents that i need to submit for my spouse who is in states now. Can anyone please help with all these questions???

Thanks

Dear Asivad Anac and other experts,

I received ITA on the 23rd Oct / 19th draw and have been preparing my application since then. Below are the questions that I have at this point of time:

1. For question on Education History "Were you awarded a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate for this period of study?" should I put "Yes" for I have WES evaluation and put the same "Canadian equivalency" for each of my degrees?

1. (a) Should the "Education History" and "Personal activities" on education be consistent on the degree awarded? For example, as per the WES report my wife's 4 years bachelor degree is equivalent to 4 years Canadian bachelor degree, however, for her 1 year Master degree WES only awarded "1 year of graduate study". Should I put "1 year of graduate study" on the "activity" also?

2. For experience, I don't have the supporting paper for my first job during 2004-2006 as an "Accountant". The only document I have is a very generic "employment certificate" without job details, salary, etc. After that I worked for 2 companies in 5 positions since Sep 2006. Do I need to mention on work history? Again, as an activity I want to include this since that is what I did during this period. What should I do?

3. For the security questionnaires, I applied under FSWP last year twice ( first under NOC1112 and then under 1111) and my application was returned twice. Should I need to answer "Yes" for both of these questions (1) "Have you been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?" and (2) "Have you ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?" .

I think the first question is a subset of second one, as my answer is "Yes" to 1st question, it should be Yes to 2nd one as well. Thoughts?

4. Regarding the documents on education do I need to include all my scanned WES report, certificates and transcripts in just one pdf file?

5. For supporting documents on work history, do we need to prepare separate files for different jobs? In my previous company I served in three different positions but only have one "Experience Letter" which includes all three positions, responsibilities, etc. I also have supporting documents such as transfer letter, appraisal letter, etc. Should I need to make three copies of my "Experience Letter" for each and add few supporting documents on the top, or just upload it for the last job and split the supporting documents as applicable?

I apologize for my long message. Would appreciate it if you give me your feedback and suggestions.

Thanks in advance...

1. For question on Education History "Were you awarded a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate for this period of study?" should I put "Yes" for I have WES evaluation and put the same "Canadian equivalency" for each of my degrees?

No. You would answer Yes only if your education credentials were acquired inside Canada.

Mention actual years of study in Education & Personal history. Choose equivalency as given in WES report.

2. For experience, I don't have the supporting paper for my first job during 2004-2006 as an "Accountant". The only document I have is a very generic "employment certificate" without job details, salary, etc. After that I worked for 2 companies in 5 positions since Sep 2006. You can leave it out of Work history while retaining it under Personal history. This way, you won't be prompted for any documentation for this experience and it won't add any points to your score.

Thoughts?

If you either have a UCI or have been refused a visa by any other country, answer Yes to both questions.

4. Regarding the documents on education do I need to include all my scanned WES report, certificates and transcripts in just one pdf file?

Yes. CIC doesn't ask for transcripts for foreign education.

Have a distinct line item only if there was a change in NOC in those 3 different positions. If your NOC didn't change, just have 1 line item under Work history for that employment and mention your current job title so that you'll be prompted for just 1 reference letter.

I apologize for my long message. Would appreciate it if you give me your feedback and suggestions.

Thanks in advance...

Thanks Asivad Anac for your prompt reply and helpful advice.

It seems like we wont be able to submit the application before the medical is done. Is this the case?

I've already made an appointment for the medical tests and doctor visit, but surprisingly the clinic only asked for passport copies and photos from us. Shouldn't there be an application reference no to be mentioned on the report that they are going to send to CIC?

Yes. Medicals are mandatory uploads as part of the post ITA application.

Take a copy of your ITA letter with you and provide it to the clinic. They usually use the passport as the primary key though.

Hello people,

Need your help/advice/suggestion.

is there a thread in this forum that someone can point me to, that will provide a step-by-step instructions of how to apply for Express Entry process(in order).
If here is no thread of that can, could someone who has in-depth understanding of the process, kindly create one and put it as sticky?

I am bit confused as to what would be the first step in applying for the EE and its corresponding steps.
Though website provide instructions to certain extent, i am not entirely convinced as i understand there is lot more required than what is mentioned on the website.

These instruction will be helpful not just to me but many aspirants who are seeking a lucid understanding of the process.

Thank you all for your time. :)

Hello Friends,

I am a newbie here and I have some questions regarding Canada PR. I know there has been lots of things mentioned in this forum which I came across. But still it lacks clarity for me (sorry).

I want to apply for Canada PR. I gave my IELTS exam on 26 Sep 2015. I scored 7.5 overall. Now, what should be my next step. If anybody can tell me with proper links it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

I just updated the IELTS scores on my EE profile, expecting the CRS to go up - but it did not happen. Does anyone know how much time does it take for the system to update the CRS? Thanks.
