Hi

My husband is main applicant his Ielts is done and Education assessment is also done. My ielts is also done do I have to do assessment for my education?

And for Mechanical Design engineer (Machine Design) In which (Pnp) state should we apply?

please help.

If you have an ECA for your education, it would add a few points to his CRS.

You can visit the website of the province you intend to apply to know more. This year, most provinces have exhausted their quotas. Provinces sometimes may increase their quota (with permission from CIC, of course). Look out for updates on their site!

To be eligible for Express Entry, you need to be first eligible for one of the Economic Immigration Programs - FSW, FST or CEC. - I tried come to Canada tool and it showed that we are eligible under FSW, still I need to try FST or CEC?

If you are available under one of those, you can then check if you are eligible for EE. If you are eligible, you can apply.

If you want to go through FSW, you need to get at least 67/100. - This 67/100 is last updated on Jan'15 and another link (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp) is last updated on June'15. Still they will be applicable for FSW?

Am still confused, Guys please help...Come to Canada tool shows we are eligible under FSW. Now which tool should we try for calculating points?

NO. Being eligible under one economic immigration program will suffice.

You can calculate your FSW points manually! Please look at that link and add up points as mentioned. If you score 67/100, you pass. There is another point system - Comprehensive Ranking System or the CRS. That is out of 1200 but you will have worry about that only AFTER you have created an Express Entry profile.

Each province has its own rules so you will have to look at their specific websites. Start here ---> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/apply-who.asp

Job bank isn't fully functional yet. You can search for jobs and apply but getting a job offer won't be enough. You would need to convince the prospective employer to apply for and obtain a positive LMIA assessment as well. An LMIA supported job offer would get you 600 additional points and a guaranteed ITA.

For now, PNP is working just fine. No forum member has yet reported any success in terms of getting an LMIA supported job offer via Job bank.

You cannot apply to Ontario's EE program. They will have to send you an invitation. They don't seem to be sending fresh invites for 2015 anymore.

Didn't realize that getting through the job bank was next to impossible. So, what's the routine for people who get the PR but no job and land in Canada. What if I don't get any job for a long while after moving to Canada?

Job bank is not the only (and certainly not the most exhaustive) resource to find a job in Canada. You should check the other sections on this forum where members share their experiences of finding a job after landing in Canada. CIC insists on POF to ensure that you (and your family, if applicable) are able to survive in Canada while trying to find a job and settle down.

I am planning to register for my IELTS.

British Council dates are not available for December and January, however IDP dates are available for 5th & 12th Dec. Should I go ahead and book through IDP? I have heard study material is different for British Council Vs IDP...is that correct? Whats the difference?
