I have a question regarding the police certificate. I left my home country when I was 17 to come to Canada, and haven't been in any other country for 6 months or longer. What should I provide when they ask for this document in the application? Letter of explanation mentioning this situation?

Thanks for the help!
I don't think you will be asked for any PCC, but, yes, you can make note of this in your LOE. Canadian PCC maybe requested later on.

Hi, with a valid job offer you get 600 points extra. So all you need to do is meet the minimum language requirement and you are guaranteed an ITA.
So retake your IELTS and get a minimum of 6 in all 4 modules and you are good to go.

Hi,

I have recieved the PR invite, but lately i realised i did a mistake by stating "Yes" for certificate of qualification for which i am not eligible (as i am a software developer), I had mentioned NOC 2173 in the certificate of qualification details and i did not receive any points for that either, but in the document checklist it is requesting for certificate of qualification, for software developer we wont get any certificate.

Please help to deal this scenario ? My last option is to decline the invite. please suggest.

Best Regards

Hello Guys,

Is there any link or forms to know intermediate status of submitted PR application from IRCC?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Well besides checking your account on the CIC website you can order GCMS notes which will give an indication of how far your application has gone.

Hi,

You don't have to decline your ITA. Just change to no certificate of qualification in your PR application and explain that you answered yes in error.
This won't be used against you in anyway since it has no effect on your CRS score.

Hi,

1) You can renew the passport and inform CIC via a case specific enquiry. You will see a link for this on your AOR.
2) There is no need to inform CIC of your travel post AOR.

All the best

So I am on the verge of submitting my EE profile, got two questions.
1) When I started my career in June 2007, My title was GET (Graduate Engineer Trainee) but I was doing work as Telecom Engineer (NOC 2147). In June 2008 My title changed to Engineer - Core Network and got a raise in salary. Responsibilities remained the same. In my opinion I should show my workex from June 2007 to June 2008. I know that CIC doesn't count apprenticeship, wondering if the word "Trainee" cause some confusion in their minds.

2) Do we get a trigger for Medical post ITA? Or is it advisable to get Medical done pre-ITA?

If you have a letter showing that your title was changed, make it as separate entry. Otherwise, show this job as one complete tenure.

I had similar situation. I joined a company as GET and then after probation of 6 months I was designated as Engineer. I worked for the organization for 4years. Since I didnt get any letter for GET to Engineer, I have shown this employment as one entry and it worked well for me.

Once you will get ITA as part of document submission you will have to submit Medical Examination Acknowledgement that you will receive after you are done with medical. I would suggest to undergo medical once you receive ITA and keep that just days before you are to submit the documents because the validity of visa is tied to validity of medical and that is usually one year from date from medical exam conducted. Doing so will give sufficient time to plan your travel.

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and I am in the process of creating an express entry profile. I had a few questions that I hope someone here could help me with.

1) My NOC code
I work in Investment Banking Middle Office (Operations) as a Senior Analyst, not sure what my NOC code would be. I think my job duties overlap between 1112 - Financial and Investment Analyst & 1114 - Other Financial Officers. Is there anyone here in the same job profile as me and can possibly point me in the right direction? I visited a couple of consultants and they were not too sure either. I have also emailed The NOC Unit (Department of Employment and SOcial Development Canada), but no luck. They have mentioned that it is my prerogative to choose the most appropriate NOC code and they can only provide the resources but not actually tell me what NOC code would be the right one. I am hoping someone here can assist me in choosing the right NOC because I am really stuck.

2) Work Experience letter
The work experience letter that I have received from HR is in a pre set format which only includes my designation, corporate grade, CTC and start date. With regards to the number of hours, I can provide my offer letter which states that information. However, I am concerned about the most important part i.e job duties. A lot of applicants have said that a letter from a colleague/senior on a plain paper (not letterhead) signed by them along with the above documents should suffice. Just wanted to make sure if that is right?

I am hoping someone could help me with the above queries. Thanks in advance and good luck to all.

Hi,

1) It is difficult at times but it is indeed only you who can select the correct NOC. The key is to select an NOC in which you have performed the actions in the lead statement and performed the majority of duties. So in your case, look closely at the two codes and select the one in which you feel closely matches your experience.
2) I do not recommend getting a letter from a colleague. Get it from your superior on notarised plain paper (also ensure that the letter closely matches the duties listed in the NOC). Then add the official letter from HR offer letter and your payslips. This will be sufficient.

All the best
