Hello Everybody!

I really need you help on this. I ordered an ECA from WES and got my report. However, I read on another forum that IRCC cannot access my application in the normal package. I ordered A duplicate ECA Package which contains a report via edelivery to IRCC. I received an email confirmation today from WES and it says "This is to confirm that World Education Services (WES) has processed your order and shipped your evaluation report to your recipient(s). 1. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC)".

Can you guys please confirm me that I did things correctly? I am actually waiting for the next extraction...

Thank you a lot in advance

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone answer my query. I have friend who is permanent resident of Canada and he wants to join Territorial army in India. Can he join the territorial army. Territorial army is second line of defense and this is not full time army job. And if the answer is yes that he can join, in that case, does he have to notify any authority in Canada or India that he is permanent resident of Canada.

Regards.

Hey Everyone,

My wife and I are applying for PR under my sponsorship. As my wife has no Canadian work experience yet and no IELTS score so her profile has not contributed to our points calculation and all the points are from my profile only. However, in her background information we provided her work experience in India - she worked at 4 different companies. We received the invitation and are uploading our documents. But now we are able to get the reference letter only from 2 of the companies that my worked at.

So we are now confused - should we show her experience from the companies that we are unable to get the reference letter from or should we just show as unemployed for that period. If we show her as unemployed for that period then would it be imply that we misrepresented information at the time of submitting our profile for the invitation? I reiterate that my wife's profile did not contribute to our score for the invitation. The other option we are considering is to provide a letter of explanation where we will also attach my wife's appointment and relieving letters for those same companies where we do not have the reference letter.

Please advise the best way forward. Thank you so much !!

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.

You don't have to provide any documentation for your spouse. Documents are required only for the jobs that you are claiming points for.

So we are now confused - should we show her experience from the companies that we are unable to get the reference letter from or should we just show as unemployed for that period. If we show her as unemployed for that period then would it be imply that we misrepresented information at the time of submitting our profile for the invitation? You can answer "NO" to the question "Does XX have work experience........" in the work history section. This is NOT misrepresentation. This is because work history section is solely for the sake of gaining points. If you are not claiming points for a particular job, keep it out of the work history section AND retain it in the personal history section alone.

Please advise the best way forward. Thank you so much !!

The points on the FSW grid is ONLY for the sake of eligibility. It has no correlation with CRS.

CRS points depends on various factors like age, level of education, work experience, language scores.

i) You get maximum points for age if you are 29 or younger. You lose 5 points per year from 30 years of age (getting old sucks).
ii) You get maximum points for 3 years of foreign work experience.
iii) You get *maximum points for CLB-9 scores in language test.

You do have a CLB-9 score in IELTS, you have at least 3 years work experience so you have maxed out on those areas. So, what you can do now is try and apply for a provincial nominee program. If your PNP application is successful, you will receive 600 points and consequently, get an ITA.

Check this -->

*The process of applying might have changed. The above post is only for a superficial reference. Please visit the website of the province to get the latest information (links available in post).

Hi all,

I'm finally uploading my documents! Yay!! But I have a question about uploading the copy of my passport. I have one valid and two expired passports. Most of the travels I mentioned in my 'Travel history' are shown in my third expired passport. Many people here advised to upload the old ones too but in the document checklist, there it says:

"You must submit a legible copy of your valid travel document which you will use to travel."

Is there anyone who uploaded his/her valid passport along with the expired one(s) and get approved (or rejected)?

Thank you

Hi,

Just received ITA today and I am completing the PR application form. Two questions are confusing me.

1. Has Omeyimi Madowu Sanni been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

2. Has Omeyimi Madowu Sanni ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?:

Now, I have been refused a student visa to the U.S as well as visiting visa to the U.S before. Do I have to answer yes to both questions or is it only one i answer yes to.
If am answering yes to the first question, do I need to provide details of only the visiting visa or do I have to mention the student visa as well

Also, can answering yes have a detriment on the success of my application?

I need as many replies as possible so i can get this right

If in my experience letter all the requisite details are mentioned for work experience except the salary (for which I am putting the last appraisal letter), do I need to put my salary slips also as they would not give any information about the annual salary etc.

Your application wont get rejected for such things. If you add expired passports they will just be treated as extra, unnecessary documents and, at most, will annoy the Immigration officer.

All the best.

If the letter doesn't have all the required information it's a good idea to add as much supporting evidence as possible. So I would suggest you add both the appraisal letter and salary slips. Also include this in you LOE.

Hi Everyone,

Good news first - I received a mail in Mycic today that has asked for my passport. Im presuming this is good news an they're asking for my passport for stamping :)

But I have a situation here:
I got married after the E-Apr stage and updated CIC to add my husband to my application as an accompanying dependent. They asked for all his documents which I submitted and he was eventually added to my application (shows in Mycic account). Last month I got a call my my visa office in Delhi asking me to pay my husbands RPRF (which was done and the receipt copy shared with the visa office).

1. My husband lives in another city from me. Can we send our passports seperately through VFS? Since the Passport request letter is addressed to me, will VFS accept his passport in Mumbai and mine in Bangalore?

2. I had done my medicals sometime in August Last year while my husband did his in Jan this year. I read somewhere that the landing visa expiry date is 1 year from the medical date. Is this correct?

Please help us since my husband cannot travel to Bangalore immediately.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Congrats hey.

1) To avoid confusion, why doesn't your husband send his passport to you via DHL (or any other service provider) so that you send them in together?
2) Yes, correct. One must land before the expiry of their medicals.

All the best
