Yes, and education is also not a requirement for CEC, but if you want to earn points for it, you'll have to get an ECA for it.toto888 said:Hello all,
New to the forum and just starting to look into applying for EE. I had a couple of questions.
Firstly looking at the different pools, I think right now I would be eligible to apply for the Federal Skilled worker pool:
- Medical degree from Australia
- worked as a medical doctor from Jan 2011 to July 2012 full-time in Australia
Looking at the CRS, I think I would get 451 points depending on how they count my degree:
- Age 30
- CLB 10 for English
- Medical degree - which from my university in Australia was a 6 year course and is a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and also a separate Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences - so would this count as two degrees?
Some questions I had though
1) Does it matter that now I'm not working in medicine any more? ie can I apply with my degree/work experience even though I don't have the intention to work in medicine any longer?
Yes, work accrued with the WHV counts for CEC, and you can indeed apply with that NOC B experience even if it's unrelated to your education. Since you don't have yet an ECA or one year of Canadian work experience, you can hold off creating your profile until later.2) I have actually been working here in a Canada on a working holiday visa, but in a completely different NOC classification - as a ski instructor and gym instructor (NOC classification B).
- Could this count as Canadian work experience, even though it is wholly unrelated to my field of study/foreign work experience
- Secondly if it can count towards Canadian work experience, does it need to be continuous or is it okay that it is separate jobs in different time periods (not for the FSW eligibility criteria, but for CRS scoring)?
i.e. Work history is roughly ski instructor Dec 2014 - April 2015 (employed full-time, but only worked approx 350hrs), then again Dec 2015-April 2016 (approx 400hrs), and now working as a gym instructor approx 30hrs/wk - if I continue with this work, I will eventually accumulate enough for one year's work experience if I can combine the different jobs
- If it's the case that I can count this experience, am I better off waiting to apply when I have one year of Canadian work experience, as it will boost my score significantly higher than the 451 I think I will currently get? Or can I update my application at a later date when I have that Canadian work experience
Thanks for any input

The best way to improve your score is to target CLB 9 in IELTS (LRWS - 8777). You can try different values in the calculator and see how much difference IELTS makes to your CRS.Himalaya1 said:Hi Stanlee.

The requirement with regard to work experience states that the minimum work experience should be for a period for of 12 months (1560 hours i.e., 30 hours for 52 weeks) under NOC skill type 0, A or B in the last 10 years. In your case you have mentioned that you have 6 years of work experience and under Express Entry you get maximum points for work experience 3 years and above provided it falls under NOC skill type 0, A or B. Also, if you are not currently not employed, you can still apply under Express Entry based on your 6 years of work experience. So you need not worry as long as you meet the requirement.re_ionut said:Hello everyone,
I looked over this forum, I want to apply to EE and I have a question that gives me a headache. It's about 'maternity leave'. My wife had 8 months of maternity leave and now I have also 4 months the same. I'm from Romania and here the government requires you to stay home with the child at least 1 month. Regarding this, I opted for 4 months. In all this time the government pays 85% of salary based on the last 12 months. My work contract is suspended for the period that I am in maternity leave. Now the question is: Even I was paid in this period, I need to put this period separated, as a unemployed person both me and my wife? This will afect my EE score?(In total I have more than 6 years).Thanks.
I've seen this information, but if this wasn't very clear for me, I went over. Thanks, now I'm more enthusiastic.Stanlee said:The requirement with regard to work experience states that the minimum work experience should be for a period for of 12 months (1560 hours i.e., 30 hours for 52 weeks) under NOC skill type 0, A or B in the last 10 years. No, its not necessary for the spouse, however, it is the mandatory requirement for Principal applicant. In addition, The more band spouse, the greater the CRS points will be.hammadtaj said:Hello ppl,
I have a query regarding IELTS score.
It is necessary for my spouse to score 6 band each in IELTS test although she is not a primary applicant. Will the score be counted if its less than 6 band?

No credit card limit cannot be used to show as POF. By its very nature credit card funds are borrowed funds.doro_07 said:Hey Guys.
Quick question when it comes to funds. Do credit cards count? We have one credit card with a big limit and it would cover almost all 15 k. Also we do have big limit in the account - does that count to? We also have money in different banks, can we make a transfer to one account and give the statements from that account? The trensfers would be visible on the statements as "from me to me".
Thanks for your responses.
Professional certificates are not assessed by WES. You can check for any other organization from CIC list but I doubt if they will do it. You can get your Bachelors assessed by WES.shaheeriqbal91 said:Hi guys,
