Your NOC depends on your roles and responsibilities (and a little, on your designation too). Though you have taken transfer to Loans & credit monitoring department, if your line of work is still IT (change management, providing program enhancements/fixing defects etc), then you must choose the relevant NOC in the IT department (2174?). Also, what is your designation btw?
Thank you RajKamalmohanram. +
I am currently Senior Manager and in role of Business Solutioning Group (BA / Business Systems Analyst.)

so I need to have 2174. Right .

Hello Friends

I am sorry if i am asking these questions in the wrong thread. I had completed WES and IELTS and all set to create the express Entry. Whiling filling form, i am stuck with below 2 questions. Not sure how to proceed. Please suggest

1) NOC for Primary Occupation: I had worked as IT business Analyst for a banking company and my duties matches well with NOC 2171. But don't have any degree nor training in computer programing. However I graduated in BTECH- Electronic and communication and also have a MBA in finance. Can you please suggest if I am eligible to choose Noc 2171?

Your work experience does not necessarily need to match your education. If that were the case, most of the Indians wouldn't be eligible to apply through EE (because whatever their education background is, they come to IT so...). In my opinion, you can choose 2171.

2) Date XXX first became qualified to practice in this occupation : I had completed my BTECH in March 2010 and MBA in September 2012(course completed on March'12 but exams were held in Sep'12). But I had got a full time paid Business Analyst Job from June 2012 to Aug 2013. So can you please suggest which date should I choose for “First become qualified to practice”? And if I give Sep 2012 as “First become qualified to practice” , will I be able to claim 1 year of experience which mandatory for FSW

About this.. I am not very sure but I think you need to select the date you got your final semester results. Though you got the job offer in June 2012, you would have started working only after you completed your final semester results. So, I think you must select the day you got your final semester results. You must count the dates of employment from the date you joined the company (not the date of offer letter) till the day you quit. So, in my opinion, if you joined work only after your exam results were declared, you will not have completed 1 year, so you will not be eligible.
You need at least one year, CONTINUOUS, paid, full-time or equivalent part-time exp to be eligible.

PS: I have 7 months of experience of ( 2014-2015) as a Professor in a MBA college , not sure if it can be accounted to my work experience
Thanks Rajkamal for quick response +
. I think i will choose 2171 as my NOC. Actually my MBA class were completed in May, but the exams were conducted on Sep 2012. Mean while, i had got my job and started working as full time employee from June'12 to Aug'13. And wrote MBA final exams . My first company , they were okie for me to join since i had BTECH in EC.
So i was thinking if i can give the "Date first became qualified to practice in this occupation" as my BTECH graduation date which is 2010. Please let me know

Much Thanks!!!!! you are awesome.. keep the good work going..!!
Somewhere in the thread we should have the option of pointing these idiot consultants so that others are not fooled. I have recent experience of my own where I have been fleeced by the consultant and the advice I have received so far has all been wrong.

Hi all,

guy i need your help, i am just starting my EE profile and i don't have enough points and i need to figure out what is the best way of increasing my points.

so i studied for two years in Seneca college.
i am currently working it has been over the year now and my NOC cote is 1215.

i have bunch of questions and i hope that some of you could help me.
1)I am confused about the job bank , do i still need to register if i already have a job an i am working with my work permit?
2) how does my employer apply for LMIO and how long does the process take, my work visa expires in June on next year?
3) how low do you think points will of in EE, top score that i get is 390 i think will i ever have chance on being selected if i do not get extra points?
4) should i try applying under both PNP and LMIO ?

I am very stressed and i can't sleep because i read that it is hard to get LMIO and PNP takes a long time so I'm scared that i will not be able to get my invitation and my visa will expire :-[

are you appplying for fsw?requirement is at least 1 year continuous full time work. if you have other work experience apart from the 3 months in the same noc that amounts to at least 1yr then this shouldnt be a problem.

hi guys...i have a question regarding dependents

my friend has a one year-old baby but is separated from his ex. he is not in good terms with his ex and she does not want to cooperate with him on anything. he does not plan to take the baby with him at the moment, but eventually like in 5-10yrs he plans to get the baby.

1 - does he need to declare the baby as his dependent now?
2 - does the baby need to take medical exam?
3 - apart from the medical, would anyone know what other documents are needed? the baby only has birth certificate and no other documents.

please enlighten me on this. i dont have kids and from what i read it doesnt really say how to go about with babies.

    • Hello,

I have received my ITA and filled in my e-APR. I have got a personalized document checklist. As per the same, I need to submit the following documents.
      • Marriage License/Certificate (required)
        Education Diplomas/Degrees (required)
        Passports/Travel Documents (Multiple) (required)
        Digital Photo (required)
        Police Certificates (Multiple) (required)
        Proof of Medical Exam (required)
        Employment Records (required)
Proof of Means of Financial Support (required)

Similarly my spouse needs to submit the following:
      • Passports/Travel Documents (Multiple) (required)
        Proof of Medical Exam (required)
        Employment Records (required)
        Employment Records (required)
        Digital Photo (required)
        Education Diplomas/Degrees (required)
        Police Certificates (Multiple) (required)

Can someone please tell me why it states (multiple) for passport/ police certificates? I have not stayed in any country outside India so I require only 1 PCC and I have only 1 passport. Any idea why it still shows as Multiple?

Also please so let me know if the originals are to be scanned and uploaded for education degree/marksheet/ marriage cert/passport & employment records? Or do I need to take color copies, get them notarized, scanned and then upload them?

I do have a consultant but he seems clueless on the the Express Entry process and I seem to be his guinea pig for the new system! Will appreciate all help given on this forum.

I'd like to know which one I'm supposed to consider while calculating my points as I've taken IELTS (English is second language in my case) -> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

I think I'm supposed to choose "Official languages proficiency - first official language". Correct?

Thanks in advance.

It says multiple because some people would have stayed in a foreign country for more than 6 months. If you have never gone abroad or you went for stays less than 6 months, you DO NOT need a foreign PCC ; PCC from your country alone would suffice.

Yes, correct. Canada has 2 official languages - English and French. You must have a TRF for at least one of them. Since you have taken IELTS, you must choose first official language as English. In the second official language (If you have not taken any test for French), I suppose you have to give N/A.
