Also, if anyone is able to help me with this as well, that would be much appreciated. I took courses at an institution before I enrolled in their degree program. I then counted these credits towards the degree. What would be the official start date of the program? Would it be the date I was accepted into the degree program or I first started taking credits there? Many thanks.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
Hi, I am in work permit and have job offer in letter. As per CIC website, i don't need to show proof of funds. But when i create my profile, it is asking me to enter the amount (how much will i bring to canada)? if i dont need to show proof of funds, what should i mention in this field.

You're welcome.

Can someone report the thread to the moderator to ask that it becomes a sticky? This question gets asked quite often.
Thanks so much.. Can you help me with this question; I am a mechanical technologist and have worked for 3 years back in 2013 to 2016 before I moved to uae and worked as a security guard and a helper in installation of fire fighting equipments because I wanted to learn that profession.

I'm listed as Director alongside my friend in a registered company, for which there has never been any business transaction since incorporation, and i am also in a paid employment. Do I need to include this in my personal history considering it will overlap with my current paid employment, if I am to include it in my personal history, how do I go about this as no points was claimed for this because I am not the PA?
Or can i simply write an LOE to explain this as against putting it in personal history because of the overlap effect it will have on my paid employment history?

The information is really helpful, thanks a lot.
My problem is how to get form to fill, I've searched all through and I couldn't find it.
I'd keep browsing around though but if there is accurate info on it will be well appreciated.

Hello, is the MPNP EOI and CIC express entry the same thing?

If not, I did my EOI April 10, 2019 and my score is 560 but the draws after that have lower scores and I still didn’t receive a LAA. Does anyone know why that might have happened?

Hi guys,
What are the conditions to select primary noc job code in application?
Do I need to have 3 years experience in primary job code alone ?
My experience is as below:
2011 to apr 2017: job code 2283
Apr 2017 to till date( 2.1 yrs): code 2171
Can I Choose 2171 as primary job code?

Which one is in more demand in terms of pnp nominations, 2283 or 2171? How can I check this?

Hi everyone,

I need a help. I am applying for Canada PR and have a query with regards to job reference letter. I am not sure, if this question is already answered. I have 3 years of experience out of which my first job was for 1.5 years. I also have the experience letter for it. However, I read on this website, that the experience letter needs some specific info like work hrs per week, roles and responsibilities, etc which is not there on my experience letter. Moreover, I cannot approach that organisation, as it shut down in the year 2015. So, not sure what to do in such a case. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

I have a total of 3 years 4 months work experience, however I left my first job in 1 Year, 7 months. My profile in the first Job was more of Research and my profile in my current job (Bank - For the last 1 year, 7 months) is Product Manager (more of solutioning).

Both these profiles fall under different job codes! Can I apply under different multiple NOCs ?
