You can work remotely anywhere in the world. job offer provided by Canadian company can have additional points but you need LIMA.
Well, if it's long term - No, if your company does not have legal entity in Canada. Your company technically needs to handle the payroll & taxes within Canada.
Thanks for the reply. But my employer does have an entity in Canada to do the same. Then can the offer letter be a help to gain 50 points?
Several reasons. The main one is that your employer would need to obtain an approved LMIA in order for you to be able to get points for a job offer. This is an involved (i.e. long and expensive) process for the employer. If you think your employer would be willing to do it, by all means go ahead and ask them to go through the process. Plan on the process taking 4-6 months to complete.
Look at it this way, if you're working remotely, then it's not really a Canadian job offer since you could be working anywhere. There's absolutely no need for you to be in Canada. You're just trying to get points by remotely working from Canada. The job offer points don't work that way - there's a lot more required. If is was this easy to get the points, everyone would have them. There are no shortcuts here.

Again no. A letter will get you nothing.
Two options to get the 50 points:
1) The Canadian branch of the company gets an approved LMIA. This is a 4-6 month process usually with no guarantee of approval.
2) The Canadian branch of the company applies for and is approved for an ICT work permit that allows you to move to Canada on a work permit based on either being a senior executive of the company or having very specialized skills. After you have moved to Canada and have worked in Canada for a full year, you can claim the 50 points.
But then OP would need to be on a closed work permit. A closed work permit is not going to be approved for someone who is working for a company in the U.S. and wants to work remotely in Canada.
