I've submitted an express entry profile but I'm getting the message saying that my profile is ineligible. I've tried to submit my profile twice over the last week and I got the same message both times. I'm a bit puzzled. Can someone please check why I'm ineligible?

Age: 31
Nationality: British Citizen, Hong Kong SAR (Dual)
Education: Full time Masters (UK Degree; Completed in Sep 2012; ECA report issued by WES on 20 Aug 2020)
Language Test: IELTS (S: 8.5, R: 9, L: 8.5, W: 7; Test Date 18 Jan 2020)
Work history: Last job was Electronics Engineer (2133) in the UK for 37 months between Sep 2014 to Sep 2017.
Primary Occupation in EE profile: NOC 2173 Software Engineer (This is the area I wish to work for in Canada)
Cash to bring to Canada: Definitely higher than required.
Areas I wish to live in: Alberta, British Columbia

There are quite a few things in my mind that could have lead to an ineligible profile. However I'm not sure what could have been the cause:
  • I've been doing a PhD in the last 3 years. Originally I thought it was because I haven't completed my current degree and hence have no ECA for my PhD. However, my profile got rejected regardless of whether I fill in my current education. Would it better if I haven't been working in the last 3 years?
  • I find that the application website is quite glitchy. I only manage to login if i clear my cache every time or if I use incognito mode with my browser. Could this be a technical glitch?
  • I created my GCKey back in February but my first EE profile expired as it took too long to get my ECA due to covid-19.
  • My work experience was Electronics Engineer (2133) but I've stated that I'll be seeking job as a Software Engineer (2173). My current and previous experience both allows me to work as a software engineer. Could the rejection be caused by a mismatch in NOC code between my experience and my interest?

The rejection is caused by mismatch b/w your NOC codes. You need to put in a NOC code for which you have atleast 1 year experience.

Thanks for your help! I've worked with software in my previous work experience but technically it's still closer to NOC 2133 but some responsibilities overlap with 2173. Will it lead to trouble if I fill in 2173 instead?

Post-ITA you will have to supply IRCC with a proof of your work exp. This proof requires a job description from your manager/HR. These duties must match the description of NOC code selected by you.
