Hi there community!

I have searched but can't find the answer to this question.
As I have posted before my husband and I were working towards getting him here on an OWP as I am a TFW. His application has been submitted and we are awaiting a response.
On the other hand, I would like to submit my EE profile as my work permit is going to expire January. I was alerted to the fact that I cannot include my husband as my spouse in the EE application if he isn't in Canada.
Do you guys have any info on this? Does it matter if he is in the country or not? What do I put as the answer to the question "Will your spouse be accompanying you"? I am already here and hopefully I won't have to leave. It's just a matter of getting him here.

Thanks guys.

You got a wrong information. You can include your spouse no matter where s/he currently lives. Moreover it is even encouraged to do so, as later it will be much more complicated to sponsor your spouse to Canada. To the question "Will your spouse be accompanying you?" you should answer "yes" if you want to include your spouse in the application. This question is related to Permanent Residence and not to TFW or OWP or any other temporary resident status.

Thanks for your response. I had the same feeling. My company is helping me with my immigration, so it was them who brought this up. Do you have any reference to CIC that I can use to provide to them as an answer, rather than "he can be included, I just know it"!

Does anyone have personal experience with a similar situation?

Thanks!

It is so obvious that I'm not sure if CIC even put it somewere. Not to mention that even the main applicant don't have to be in Canada to apply for EE.
