I am presently working in Canada on a Work Permit and I intend to apply for PR after I bring my spouse (dependent visa) to Canada next month. This is so that we could do the medical tests and other PR formalities together here.

I have completed the CELPIP and WES formalities with have a PR acceptable score. I'm believe I should be able to get an ITA soon after I submit my profile.

I am leaving to India next week for 1 month of vacation and will be returning back with my wife. I would like to know if I can obtain the PCC from a Passport Office in India for both of us while we are there, and submit that document to CIC after getting ITA.

Could you please suggest if this could be done. Or if I should only do the PCC from Canada for my case

You can also get the PCC from Indian Consulate here in Canada, it's much easy and faster. :)

Thanks for the reply. So are both options to get PCC valid and allowed by CIC ?

I agree that doing it in Canada is easier. Only reason I'm thinking of the other is to use the time in India and get the PCC completed before I come back. I would then only need to do the medical tests and can submit all the documents sooner.

Enjoy your time in India, why do you want to get into Govt. work? LOL. It's a headache. :P
But yes, you can definitely do it. However, no one can guarantee you how long will it take from India. I got mine from Indian Consulate in Toronto in just 4 hours :)
