Express Entry - Police Certificates

I worked in country A for one year in 2015. I have left country A but visited again for leisure in June 2016 for one month. I got the police certificate in Jan 2016 (i.e. prior to my short visit). The police certificate clearly indicates that it is valid for 6 months.

My question is: may I use this police certificate after I receive the ITA in Nov 2016? It expires according to the police certificate, but it seems to be valid according to CIC's rule?

According to CIC's rule, the PCC you got in Jan 2016 is no longer valid because you went back to Country A in Jun 2016. This is what the law says: "For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued AFTER the last time you lived in that country." If you use it, your application will surely be rejected.

From CIC's website its rule is "For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the departure date of the last time the client resided in that country for more than six months."

Since I only resided in that country for one month after I got the police certificate, I should be OK?

If you provide a PCC issued before your latest visit, how CIC can be sure you didn't commit any offences or crimes during your visit as a visitor.

That's why they ask applicants to provide a PCC issued AFTER your left the country.

I wouldn't gamble on this one and I'd suggest you to ask a new PCC. It may be add some more administrative work or fees, but it's better than having your application rejected, no ?

I think you should be fine IMO. Residing and travelling for leisure are two different things, I presume that your 1 month stay was on a visit visa ? Because this will anyways be mentioned in the countries you have visited within the last couple of years section.

As per how can CIC know if you committed any crimes as a visitor, well in that case they would require PCC for every country you visited as a visitor. Key word here being VISITOR. As long as your leisure visit was on a visit visa of some sort I think you should be fine.

Alternatively, you can always add a LOE explaining this situation, in the event you have no way of attaining an updated PCC from the country.

You should be fine then, every country's regulations are different but in my case when I went to attain a PCC. The main thing they needed were all my prior resident visas, I have even visited the country several times after my residence visa had expired, but they didn't ask me for that. But then again every country's regulations are different.

Similar situation..

I came in Canada in Jan 2013 and went back for a month in 2014 May (to my home country). This year I applied for PCC for my home country and got one.

I still waiting for ITA but before I get ITA, I might going to visit my home country for 15 days in next month.

So, question is: does my PCC that I took early in this yr will still valid ? after this small visit ? Or I have to take new one after I come back, even if I don't stay more than 6 months?
