Express Entry points

Hi Guys. Me and my wife have both NOC-0 jobs for over 10 years (foreign). She has a masters and I have a BS. We got the equivalence from WES.
I scored 8 on IELTS but she only scored 6.5.
Anyways based on our ages we are unable to get more than 400 pts unless I get a masters (2y lol) or I do French (Not sure I will do good there).
Even with that we will get a max of 450-460 pts.
Any guides on how one can increase pts? Can i can nominated without a job offer?
I see single people getting ITA how can they score that high without nominations and job offer?
I tried to search but all nomination programs actually require a work permit or job offer so it seems counter intuitive that they are both related, maybe I am missing something

You want to have above 400 to have some chance of PNP. But even then, certainly very very far from guaranteed. Ontario scores have been quite high recently and you would need above 450.

Single people are getting ITA because they are probably a lot younger than you are and haven't lost age points, likely have advaced degrees (e.g. Masters, PhD), and have likely studied and worked in Canada for additional points. Very feasible to get 470+ if you do all of that. Age is likely your biggest barrier which you can do nothing about unfortunately.

Do you happen to work for a company that has operations in Canada and may be willing to move you to a job here?

Can your wife rewrite IELTS to achieve a higher score and then be the primary applicant?

If i get a job offer backed by an LMIA i believe that will get me an ITA.
i am trying this way, also i can use the job offer to start working via a work permit I believe

Not necessarily. For express entry, the LMIA backed job offer will get you an additional 50 points. Whether that gets you enough points to get ITA is another matter.

It might get you a provincial nomination in which case you could go that route.

And yes, if it's a dual intent LMIA, you can use it to obtain a work permit as well as get points towards EE.

It's generally extremely difficult to find employers willing to go through the LMIA process due to the cost and time involved. They must also advertise the job and prove no Canadian could be found for the role (especially hard to do now with COVID-19 related job losses). Having said that, some people are successful.

If LMIA can giv you 470+ I would suggest that your wife try to max out her ielts (at least 8777). It’s much easier than LMIA from outlan.
